THIS year the Great North Run -- the biggest half marathon in the world -- celebrates its 20th birthday, and what a party it promises to be.
Celebrities from all walks of life will be joining the fun in the North East on October 22, along with more than 40,000 mere mortals who enjoy running all or part of the 13 miles from Newcastle to South Shields. Many of the runners will be supporting their favourite charities.
If you have a place for the run but don't yet have a charity to run for, why not support the Arthritis Research Campaign? We fund a big research programme into the crippling condition of arthritis, the single biggest cause of disability in the UK -- and rely entirely on public donations to keep up the momentum of cutting-edge research work.
For a sponsor form, T-shirt/vest and a completion certificate, call me on 01670 921146 or write to me at Melrose House, Bedlington, NE22 7AT.
