FANS' favourite Tim Street will be back in Leigh Centurions colours next season - for one last time.
The popular prop has agreed a new one-year deal with the Centurions but as exclusively revealed his plans to retire at the end of the next campaign.
"Next season will be my last," declares Street. "I've had a long time in the game and it's becoming more and more a young man's game."
But the 32-year-old plans to go out with a bang by leading the Centurions to Grand Final glory.
"If I had one wish it would be to play in a winning Grand Final team for Leigh. Then I would retire a happy man," he adds. "We went mighty close this time and hopefully we'll be able to go one better next season."
Street and co-prop Dave Whittle agreed terms last week and now Leigh report that all their out of contract players are signed up for next season.
Leigh are still pursing one more forward signing and are known to have been in talks with London Broncos prop or second rower Paul Davidson.
Liam Bretherton, who will formally join Leigh once his Wigan contract expires next month, has been named in the 23-man Irish squad for the Lincoln World Cup. He is the only player from the NFP to be included in the squad.
