MASKED raiders robbed a Farnworth bookies escaping with cash and betting slips.
Two men, wearing hoods, terrorised staff and customers yesterday, threatening them with a monkey wrench, before one of the thugs jumped over the security screen to grab the money. The raid at Ladbroke's Norris Street shop in Farnworth happened at 3pm yesterday before the thieves escaped in a blue Ford Escort car which had been reported stolen from the Asda car park in Bury. The first robber is described as white, with a slightly tanned complexion and well built. He is about 6ft 1ins tall wearing blue jeans and a blue fleece and a yellow material hood.
His accomplice is white, 5ft 10ins to 6ft tall and slim. He wore blue jeans a dark top and a light coloured material hood. Both spoke with Salford accents. Anyone with information is urged to contact Bolton police on 0161 872 5050 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
