THE Bolton League break new ground tomorrow when they play a second XI representative game.
The match between the League and the Central Lancs League 2nd XI takes place at Tonge starting at noon and will be played over 50 overs each side.
The idea has long been mooted that second team players should have the chance to play representative cricket and now that it has happened there are hopes that it will become an annual event.
Certainly tomorrow's opponents from the Central Lancs League are keen for it continue with the real hope that it can be extended to a full knockout competition on the same lines as the inter-league event for senior teams.
Tomorrow the Bolton League will be captained by Bradshaw's Neil Hart while Rochdale's Mark Butterworth will lead the opposition.
The Central Lancs League have a couple of players in their ranks who will have to live up to their more famous namesakes - Trevor Bailey and Mike Brearley.

Central Lancs League: Mark Butterworth (Rochdale), Simon Davey (Middleton), Peter Bailey (Walsden), Trevor Bailey (Walsden), David Jarawala (Werneth), Darren Walsh (Norden), Robert Holmes (Norden), Phil Burrows (Heywood), David Hilton (Heywood), Robert Jackson (Rochdale), Mike Brearley (Rochdale). 12th man: Ian Gilbertson (Radcliffe).
