TONY Blair should be praised and supported for his bravery in getting fuel moving again.

These protesters might feel proud at the applause they are getting from passing motorists, but do they realise the dangers to the Health Service?

Lives could be lost by hold-ups on the roads and difficulties getting ambulances to patients.

Ten years ago, ambulance drivers were on strike. My husband suffered a heart attack and, after a very long delay, he was taken to hospital in a stark Army vehicle which had to be directed by a police car.

No paramedics, no emergency equipment, just two concerned soldiers and a typical British bobby. Immediate treatment might have saved his life.

If the PM's actions have saved the life of just one woman's husband or of a precious child, good luck to him. I wish he had been around 10 years ago.
