A 14-YEAR-OLD boy was airlifted to hospital after suffering an electric shock while on a fishing expedition in Horwich with his father.
The youngster suffered burns to his hands after catching his fishing rod on electric cables above him. He was thrown into the water by the shock when his line became entangled in the power cables.
The accident at 1.20pm happened at the North West Model Boat Pond, which is in a field off Squirrel Lane, near to Anderton Services.
The boy was treated at the scene of the accident by paramedics before being airlifted to the Royal Preston Hospital by the North West Air Ambulance Service.
