SHOULD we, the ordinary down-to-earth folk of this country, not be backing the haulage lads and the farmers to the hilt?
For, let's face it, we are being taxed right up to the muckers, not only by fuel, but all other aspects of our lives. We cannot go on this way, finishing up a load of whimpering beggars on the street.
What the Government do with all the taxes they snatch is beyond thought. If the pensioners and low-paid workers squandered their income in such a way, they would all be dead within a couple of years.
Back to the fuel situation. The only people to moan about what's going on are the people with large incomes or the people who get their petrol and road tax paid for them.
All these company benefits could be done away with now that we have the so-called brilliant Internet and computers with which Mr Blair says we should all make ourselves competent.
Surely, if it's so good, all businessmen could sit at home with their laptops and twiddle their nobs and buttons and save the country a fortune on expenses?
