BOLTON youngsters are set to get their anti-crime message across in music, dance and drama.
Youngsters from the town are being urged to take part in the Greater Manchester Police On the Beat 2001 arts competition.
The deadline for entrants is October 1, with local youngsters from schools and youth groups in the town having the chance to take part in local heats next February.
It follows on successful competitions held in the last two years with selected schools in the area going on to a Force final which will be held at Manchester's Bridgewater Hall.
The theme will be 'Our community, our future, our responsibility', with the winner receiving a trophy and cheque for £1,000.
Prizes will be awarded to the runners-up, with special certificates presented in 11 categories including Most Entertaining Concept and Special Impact.
Participants must be aged between 10 and 18.
Entry forms and details will be available from September 14, from Bolton Youth Divisional Officer PC Janet Parker on 0161 856 5764 or by contacting competition co-ordinator Sergeant Trevor Pile on 0161 856 2214.
