CHEETHAM Arms moved to the top of the Pioneer League Premier Division with a tremendous away victory against Farnworth Vets.
John Gilbertson put Cheethams in front after 20 minutes. His brother Tom Gilbertson put Cheethams 2-0 up after 33 minutes. Hurst pulled one back for Vets just before half-time.
One minute into the second-half John Gilbertson put Cheethams 3-1 up only to let the lead slip away. Ian Coleman pulled one back then Hurst equalised for Farnworth Vets.
Cheethams had the last say when Lee Hodgson scored in the last minute to seal all three points for Cheethams.
Cattlemarket's first defeat of the season came when Mason Arms beat them 3-1. Eddleston put Masons into the lead only to lose it one minute later when Turner levelled for Cattlemarket. Rick Stokes put Masons 2-1 up. Cattlemarket were hit on the break when Eddleston got his second goal to seal the points for Masons.
Horwich RMI had a tremendous victory at home against Bull's Head. Horwich raced into a 2-0 lead thanks to two goals from Andy Mason. Adam Alcock pulled one back for Bull's Head from the penalty spot but Horwich held out for a 2-1 victory.
In Division One, AGD Shutters remain top after a 4-0 victory against Dunscar Arms. Tim Barrow put them into the lead. But, man of the match, was Joe Rice with a hat-trick. Ellesmere had a very good away victory at Hulton Lane. Ryan put Ellesmere in front after 15 minutes. Vinny Moss equalised from the penalty spot for Hulton Lane only to lose the lead again when Ryan got his second to seal all three points for Ellesmere.
Samba had a very good home victory against Railway by nine goals to two. Morris and Price hit a hat-trick each.
Britannia Inn had a 5-1 home victory. On target for Britannia was Tillott with a hat-trick and Dodd with two.
In Division Two, Rigby Taylor still remain in top spot after a 9-0 away victory against Bolton MV. Caffrey with four, Philburn and Lomax with two goals each and a Fitton penalty on target for Rigby Taylor.
Breightmet Rovers remain in second spot with a 7-2 victory at home against Ridgeway Rovers. Jones with a hat-trick and two from Kirkman and one each from Tong and Curnock, who were on target for Breightmet. Power replied with two goals for Ridgeway.
Sharples had a tremendous 10-2 away victory at GH Maughan. Park Rangers raced into a 2-0 lead against Faux Forest. Morris pulled one back then Smith equalised for Forest. Dearden and Wilde were on target for Rangers.
