BOLTON'S Mr Swimming, who devoted his life to helping others has raised nearly £1,500 for Bolton Hospice after his death.
People keen to remember Jim Grimshaw, who died earlier this year, have donated a total of £1,408 to the Hospice.
Even after he became ill Jim, the founder of Bolton Metro Long Distance Swimming Club, continued tirelessly to raise funds for the hospice, handing over the proceeds each Christmas.
This year, before he died Jim, of Talbot Court had already raised a total of £840.
His widow, Hilary, said: "Thank you, the people of Bolton, for supporting Jim in this way and, in turn, for helping the terminally ill people of Bolton and their families."
