WITH regard to your article concerning "Cyril the Squirrel," (Sat Sept 2). While I found the article humorous, I have a more positive and permanent approach.
Quite simply, I shoot them!
When will people realise that these creatures are vermin that carry disease and, as your story points out, do untold damage to both people's homes and the natural habitat in which they live.
Our own indigenous red squirrel has suffered in number and can only be found in a few areas throughout the British Isles thanks to this tree rat.
Quite frankly, this is one import from America we can well do without and I for one am under no illusion as to what action needs to be taken.
