Eagle land up with no points EAGLE and George had a close game at Wigan Lane in the Chorley and District Faulkner Motors Alliance Football League.

George took the three points by the odd goal in seven.

The game was always very close and could have gone either way.

The scorers for Eagle were R Jolly, T Cooper and D Brindle who was also their man-of-the-match.

A Morey scored all four goals for George and their keeper S Robertson was their man-of-the-match.

Euxton Saints were another team to go down by the odd goal in seven to Chorley Social Club on Astley Park.

The scorers for Euxton Saints were R Howarth (2) and P Pendride and their man-of-the-match was G Cunliffe.

The scorers for Chorley Social Club were J Livesley (3) and D Lloyd and B Sharrock was their man-of-the-match.

Gregson Lane S&S were in good form at home to White Horse and finished comfortable winners 4-1.

Man-of-the-match for Gregson Lane was M Ingles and for White Horse it was their keeper Clemson.

Ley Inn had a good lead at half-time with Market Tavern on Astley Park, but Tavern came back strongly in the second-half even though they only had 10 men, one of their players having to go to hospital with a broken leg.

They finished claiming all three points 6-3. Scorers for Market Tavern were B Whisker (3), P Parkinson, C McMullen and J Singleton who was also their man-of-the-match.

Clayton Brook and Top Spinners had to reverse their fixture as Clayton Brook were grounded due to the fuel situation.

The game was played on Clayton Brook's ground and Top Spinners finished winners 5-3.
