CHORLEY started slowly, in fact it was only in the second-half, with the score already 24-0 in Wigan's favour, that they began to do themselves
justice.
There was some strong and determined running from Jonathon South, Ryan Berry and Patrick Taylor, which almost resulted in tries for the visiting Panthers.
The St Jude's defence was finally breached by Danny Robinson who scooted in from dummy half to grab a fine try.
Despite the scoreline the Panthers worked hard in defence, but they were outmuscled by a physically superior St.Jude's team. Man of the match was Brad Ibbison for his strong running and all round performance.

The Panthers got off to a red-hot start when Alex Trumper gathered a kick-through close to his own line and raced the length of the field, only to be hauled down metres short of a magnificent try.
Nat Hamer scored on the following play to give the Panthers the lead.
From that point on it was end-to-end play as both sides played good rugby league football.
Sam McNally scored a fine try, just squeezing in at the corner, before Paul Jones followed Nick Buckley's excellent grubber kick to grab the third Panther try. An excellent tackling display earned Alex Trumper the man of the match award.

Though there was no lack of effort from the Panthers they were soundly beaten by a well-organised Wigan St. Jude's side.
There were encouraging performances from Matt Lavell, Alastair McGoldrick and Scott Atkins.
Try-scorer, Stephen Lucas, played through an injury to pick up the man of the match award.

Chorley started the game in fine style, with the whole team excelling in the tackling department.
The hard work in defence paid-off when Chorley penned the home side on their own line and came up with the ball, enabling Steven Mayren to go in for the first of his two tries. Good running and defence from most-improved-players Thomas Hindle and Martin Good helped keep the pressure on St Jude's.
St Jude's led by only 6-4 at half-time but a series of niggling incidents in the second-half disrupted the Panthers and put them off their game plan.
Top tacklers for Chorley were Steven Mayren and Robert Campbell. Man of the match went to Paul Holden.
