A 29-YEAR-OLD workman rang for help from his mobile phone after getting stuck behind a boiler.
No one even knew the man was in the basement servicing the boiler in a Bolton town centre church when he plunged off his ladders.
The serviceman, from Bolton, was left with his legs trapped in the ladder and his back and body twisted behind the boiler in the basement of St Edmund's Church, St Edmund Street.
He was todayrecovering after he injured his back in the accident.
As he was caught behind the boiler yesterday morning, he managed to reach for his mobile and dial 999.
Firefighters used a spinal board to carefully hoist the man free from his painful position.
He was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital suffering from suspected back and leg injuries.
Nobody from the church was willing to comment on the accident.
