HEALTH Secretary Alan Milburn has confirmed he is to visit the Royal Bolton Hospital.

Mr Milburn recently wrote to Bolton North-east MP David Crausby telling him that he will come to the town, but has not been able to arrange a time and a date.

Mr Crausby asked the Secretary of State for Health if he would visit during a health questions session in the House of Commons before the Parliament recess. It comes after Mr Crausby passed on BEN readers' views on how the NHS could improve to be included in the Government's national plan.

Health Minister John Denham has also written to Mr Crausby thanking BEN readers for expressing their views on NHS modernisation.

He said: "I can assure you that constituents' comments, which resonate with the work of action teams, will feed into the development of the plan along with a substantial amount of comments we have received from NHS staff, national organisations and the public nationally."
