Radcliffe Boro entertain Unibond League newcomers this season North Ferriby United at Stainton Park tomorrow in a Division One fixture.
The visitors were promoted into the league this term as champions of the Northern Counties East League Premier Division. Left back Tony Whealing is the only absentee for Boro as the former Leigh RMI player has damaged ankle ligaments. Three of our local sides have FA Vase Second Qualifying Round ties tomorrow all against Northern Counties East League opposition. Ramsbottom United entertain Division One outfit Thackley looking to continue the form shown by Ken Bridge's Rams team on Tuesday night which reaped a very impressive 3-0 home league win over Newcastle Town. Colls face a tough away trip to Premier Division outfit Selby Town looking to erase the last twenty minute lack of concentration that saw a two goal lead thrown away at table-toppers Clitheroe on Tuesday leading to an eventual 4-2 defeat. If the form shown by Alan Lord's side in the first hour of that game can be recaptured Selby could be in for a shock. Atherton LR welcome back vastly experienced goalkeeper Andy Hills for tomorrow's trip to another Yorkshire side from the same league but in a division lower than Colls' opponents Hatfield Main. Rovers' manager Steve Plant is also hoping to add defender Barry Cotterill and pre season signing from Skelmersdale United Alan Holmes to his squad. Holmes has yet to make his LR debut after picking up an injury in pre season games. Daisy Hill have Chadderton as visitors to New Sirs for a NWCL Division Two clash with Lee Molyneux and Ryan Cain both rated doubtful to start through injury. This week manager Brian Richardson signed left sided midfielder Barry Hatton from Ashton Town. "We've been after Barry for months," he explains. "In my opinion he's a tremendous prospect and he could just be another piece in the jigsaw for us."
