EDITH Conn -- the Bolton woman who helps spearhead the British Red Cross in the region -- is facing a hectic time currently.
As deputy president of the famous organisation in Manchester she is organising its highly successful annual gala ball.
It's at the Midland Crowne Plaza on Saturday, November 11 and, like previous occasions, it promises to be a star-studded event.
Last year, guests included Coronation Street's Bill Tarmey (alias Jack Duckworth) and soap-star-turned singer Martine McCutcheon.
Edith explained that she's never sure who's coming on the night until just before the event. "It all depends on their busy diaries," she explained.
The major fund-raiser always goes well all round, however, thanks to much hard work from Edith and her team. Last year, it raised over £40,000 for the charity's vital work.
And Edith is likely to glitter just as much as the stars on the night. She's not telling what she's wearing for this big occasion -- just that it's "long and designer label"!
