AT last action has been taken on the potentially dangerous problem of flat roofs on school buildings.
This newspaper has regularly carried reports of youngsters falling through these roof skylights. Now, in the wake of the tragic death of a teenager who died in just this way, safety is to be improved.
Bolton Council's health and safety team has put together an advisory package on preventing access to school premises. This is welcome, but not before time.
We also hope that those who design such buildings, with their often deadly attraction to youngsters, will also note this and adapt future designs accordingly.
