DETECTIVES were today hunting for a get-away car used by two masked men who attacked an off-licence worker with an iron bar.
The men burst into Premiere Wines in Tonge Moor last night and hit the shop worker on his arms with the iron bar before escaping with about £40 in cash.
They escaped in a stolen Fiat Bravo from outside the shop in Thicketford Road. The car, registration S165 CTE, had been stolen earlier yesterday from Worsley when the owner was threatened with a baseball bat by three men.
Both men in the off-licence raid were wearing scarves over their faces and hoods pulled down over their heads.
No one was available for comment at Premiere Wines.
Anyone with information about the raid which happened at about 9.55pm should call DC Swindells at Astley Bridge CID on 0161 872 5050.
