MEMBERS of Bolton Little Theatre hope the stars will come out for the first night of the play Sandcastles next month.
It will be the BT Biennial World Premiere of the play written by Bob Larby, author of television's A Fine Romance and the Good Life.
BLT's newsletter Prompter reports that it is expected that the theatre's president Shirley Ann Field as well as local celebrities Peter Kay, Dave Sparke and Bernard Wrigley will be attending the first night. And Bob Larbey, when he came to Bolton in June to run BT's northern workshop, indicated he would like to return to see the production.
The play is a dark comedy set on a northern beach, with three groups of beach-hutting holidaymakers disputing the extent of their "ownership" of the sand in front of their huts.
Steve Gill is directing and the cast comprises: Christine Pierce-Jones, Cath Blower, Michael Tatman, Carole Butler, Heliene Godding, Jennifer Lee, Alison Critchley, Mike Jeffries, Julie Crowder, Isla Crawford, Dave Parkes and Stuart O'Hara.
The play runs from October 14 to 21.
