TEENAGER Kevin Maguire has come a step closer to realising his dream of becoming a professional in-line skater after winning his first championship.
The 16-year-old apprentice joiner was competing against professionals from all over the country when he skated off with the top title at the Liverpool Ramp Works.
Kevin from Sumersby Drive, Bromley Cross has won several other prizes but this is the first time he has won a championship outright.
Mum Wendy said: "It was lovely because he won a cut glass trophy.
"Now he is hoping one of the major sponsors will notice him and he can turn professional.
"He's done really well but he deserves it because he works so hard."
