BIG Brother's Nichola Holt has crashed in to the charts- just days after the release of her first single.

Zany Nichola, from Bolton, who took the nation by storm when millions saw her strip during the first few days in the Channel 4 house, is in the UK charts at number 72.

Her debut single, The Game, was released on Monday.

The midweek chart position was made available by pop statistician Chart Information Network.

An insider said the race for top slot had become a virtual two horse race with U2's latest song, 'Beautiful Day', and Robbie Williams' duet with Kylie Minogue vying for the coveted Number One.

Nichola was hoping for a Top 10 smash hit as she embarks on a new career in music following her eviction from the fly-on-the-wall show.

Other former Big Brother contestants have also been attempting to carve out a niche for themselves.

So far 'Nasty' Nick Bateman has come out on top with the announcement this week that he is to host a new quiz show for Channel Four called 'Dilemmas'. He has also written a book and made a video.

Nichola, a 29-year-old former Canon Slade pupil, has been less prolific but she has made every effort to promote her dance song in clubs across the UK.

She is making use of singing lessons she had years before entering the Big Brother house.

The official chart position will be revealed on Radio One and local independent radio stations this Sunday from 4pm.
