ON Sunday, October 1, I caught the 1600, 501 bus from Bolton Town Centre to the Royal Bolton Hospital in Farnworth. I was on my way to work at the hospital and, unfortunately, left my handbag on the bus as I got off.
I knew the bus would return at 1630, so awaited it. When it arrived, I asked the driver about my bag and he explained that a young lady had handed it in, after rescuing it from two youths. It was only later I discovered that all my money was missing.
I would like to say a big 'thank you' to that honest young lady who rescued my handbag before any more personal belongings were taken. It was a real act of bravery and kindness, quite rare these days.
Also, thanks to the driver, who was so kind and considerate while I was in such a distressed state.
