A PROJECT run by Bolton Citizens Advice Bureau is well on its way to gaining half a million pounds in previously unclaimed benefits for residents of Bolton Council's sheltered housing.
The Sheltered Housing Welfare Rights Project offers free and confidential advice to residents on all aspects of welfare benefits such as disability, housing and income support.
And the project has now gained more than £400,000 in benefit payments that would have otherwise gone unclaimed. The project is 18 months into its two-year run and CAB is currently in negotiations with Bolton Council in a bid to extend the funding. If extra funding is granted, organisers hope to expand the project to include a team of voluntary home visitors. The project can be contacted on Bolton 900230 or by fax on 900212.
Or you can e-mail: sheltered_housing@boltoncab.co.uk or by writing to The Citizens Advice Bureau, 26-28 Mawdsley Street, Bolton, BL1 1LF.
