BOLTON Libraries' "Reading is the Key" game culminated in the presentation of more than 50 prizes to lucky children in the final prize draw.

More than 1,200 children from across the town took part in the summer reading scheme.

About 500 youngsters completed the programme by reading 15 books and everyone who finished received a prize and certificate.

The Libraries Service and the Bolton Evening News worked jointly to produce publicity for the game, and, at a ceremony in the Lecture Theatre on Saturday, prizewinners from the Bolton Evening News competitions were also there to be presented with their prizes by the editor-in-chief Mark Rossiter and the Mayor of Bolton, Cllr Alan Wilkinson and the Mayoress, Mrs Denise Wilkinson.
