IT will be a buoyant Leigh RMI that steps out at Hilton Park tomorrow - refreshed by a rare seven days off.

The postponement of the Nationwide Trophy tie at Northwich on Tuesday gave Leigh the luxury of a full weeks' preparation for tomorrow's visit of Telford United.

"I'd planned to give a few fringe players a run out at Northwich so that they could sharpen up should they be needed for first team action," says manager Steve Waywell.

"I was disappointed to lose that opportunity but one benefit is that we've been able to break the routine of three games a week which we've had to cope with virtually since the start of the season. All the players should be refreshed and ready to go tomorrow."

Leigh are looking to make it four wins in a row and maintain their progress up the table. They are currently seventh and a win tomorrow, coupled with favourable results elsewhere, could catapult them into the top five.

Midfielder Ricky Harris is likely to be back against Telford after missing last Saturday's trip to Hayes because of family commitments.

The season may be less than three months old but tomorrow's Hilton Park clash is already the second meeting between the two sides. Telford won their home fixture 2-1 in September.

Leigh know they can't take liberties, especially against The Bucks' triple strikeforce of ex-Tranmere goal ace Chris Malkin, top scorer Jez Murphy and £20,000 record signing Jake Edwards.
