IN Monday's Division A, Harveys Taxis stay out in front after beating Mardi Gra Experience a comfortable 8-2, with their goals coming from A Herlihy, J Eardley (2), P Fitzpatrick and M Dale (4), while Subeautiful move up the table to second place following their close 4-3 win against Bostic Stanley, with the winning goals from Phil Rainey (3) and Gary O'Sullivan, the goal scorers for Bostic were Eddie Murphy, Aidie Haslam and Paul Rice.
Moorside Rangers are now third in the League, they beat lowly Three Lions 3-1 with M Morrall (2) and G Holden scoring for Moorside, and Athletico Redvales picked up three points from a walkover win when Hightown didn't turn up.
In Division B The Nats retain their 100 per cent record at the top of the table, following a close 7-5 win against Clubber Lang, with John Holt, Chris Carr, Chris Holt and Graham Hamnett among the goal scorers for The Nats, and Andy Long, Neil McGee, Paul Jones (2) and Chris Newton scored the Clubber goals. Second placed Inter United beat lowly Raiders 5-2 with the winning goals coming from Owen Coyle (4) and Jack Coyle while D Arnold scored for Raiders and Hughsies Budget hammered bottom of the table The Boy Racers 15-2, Hughsie (5), Myerscough (2), Kulyn, D Watson (4) and Graham Watson (3) were the Hughsies goal scorers. Oddfellows Arms won a close match against TDG which finished 6-5 with the Odd Fellows goals coming from D Wolstenholme (2), Stuart Moth (2), Paul Iredale and Mark Ryan.
ON Tuesday the Cup Competition went well apart from the fact that there were four teams missing -- Sunnybank from Group A, Dynamo and Sondhi Kellar from Group B, and Rusty Nails from Group D.
In Group A Magnum made it through to the semis after two wins and a goalless draw with Raiders, while Group B only had two teams who played the best of three games in which Irwell Lads were the winners.
Storm won Group C after beating The Maclads and Five Star, and they drew 1-1 with PSV Beedmeister, while the winners of Group D were Whitefield Athletic who gained the full nine points from three wins.
The first Semi Final saw Irwell Lads with a 1-0 win over Magnum, while Storm beat Whitefield Athletic 3-1 in the second semi.
The Final saw a battle between the two top teams in the League and congratulations goes to the League runners up Irwell Lads who beat Champions Storm 2-1 to become the Cup Competition Winners!!!
