KEY game in the Premier brought together the two leading contenders for the Premier title, Monteraze and CCS Jolly Carter.
As expected it was a very tight game. Monteraze conceded their first goal in five games, Jolly's Graham Partington netting from close range.
But a brace of goals from James Greaves gave Monteraze the points and a six point lead.
Bolton Recreation 'B' registered their first victory in the Premier League against fellow debutantes Tag Heuer, 2-0. Goals from Bill Courtney and a cheeky one prom a free kick by Terry Morrow.
The much improved VM Mets beat the Griffin All Stars 3-1, a brace from Darren Cooper and one from Sean Danby. Griffin replied through Craig Smyth.
The game between Index and Burnden Wanderers saw a very even first half with the defences on top, half time 0-0.
Index took the lead early in the second half via a Gary Boardman goal but two classic strikes by Marcus McCluskey gave the Wanderers the three points.
Thursday Readey's
First Division
Bolton Recreation 'A' 2 Dentech 1 -- a top of the table clash that produced some very good football. The goal of the game came from Dentech's Gareth Cross with a great strike from a tight angle, but the Rec lads just about deserved the points with Martin Grimshaw and Neil Boardman their goal scorers. Rec 'A' top the division a point clear of second placed Edge Tavern, who beat the Rec Colts 3-1. A double strike from Ray Foy and a gem of a goal from Nigel Hurst. Guy Hampson for the Colts.
New Boys A.F.C. Giro 0 Samba 1 -- A good game to watch, Giro played well enough to earn a share of the spoils, but it's goals that count and Samba's Gary Bradburn made sure of the points with a late goal.
Dabs Direct went down to their fifth defeat on the trot 1-3 to Crew XI, Andy Carr who of late has played in goals celebrated his return to playing out with a hat-trick.

Barnstoneworth United 4 F.C. Elite 0 -- United got of to a flying start against the Summer First Division Champs F.C Elite. On paper it looks like they were out of their depth, but I'm sure they will adjust to the standard of play in the Premier. Goals Gary Boardman (2), Steve Boardman and Paul Swift. BOCA Seniors also promoted from the First Division got of to a good start with a 2-0 win over York, Trevor Howarth their hero with a double strike. It was the same score for Readey's against a new look Able Auto, who like Elite will need a couple of games to bed in. Readey's scorers Martin Grimshaw and Sean Lennon.
Other game Alliance Windows 0 Church Hotel 0.
Burnden Sunday
First Division
Bolton Recreation 4 All Nations 2 -- The most exciting game of the day saw All Nations take the lead via an own goal prom Rec's Neil Brooks. Neil made amends for his error with a well taken goal in the first minute of the second half. A doodle strike from Simon Smith put the Rec Lads in charge, but a second Nation goal put the result in doubt until a late goal from Smith sealed the points and a hat-trick.
New to the league Burnden Boys played with some style to beat Montserrat 2-0 with goals from Sarfnaz Khan and Saj Khan.
X Records 0 Pickerings Lifts 3 -- Pickerings made good use of the extra
man in beating X Records. Warren Hewitt, Steve Roberts and Warren Griffin, their scorers.
The Farmers 3 J.C. Engineering 0 -- without putting the jinx on them, the Farmers are my tip for the First Division title .If they can produce the form they did this week come January they will be champions. Scorers Ian Riding and Paul Anderson 2.
