I THINK it is excellent news that Bolton is to receive an extra £11
million for its deprived areas from the Labour Government. Unfortunately, it is public spending like this which will be under threat should the Tories win at the next General Election. As they wield the axe to fund their £16 billion worth of cuts, it is the poorest and those living in the most deprived areas who would lose out first.
I challenge the Tories to come clean and tell us where the axe will fall. Will the cuts be made to pensions? Will they be made to the NHS? Will Bolton's school children suffer the Tory cuts?
Frankly, it does not matter where the axe will fall because someone somewhere will have to bear the brunt of the Tories' tax-cutting guarantee.
