WE are disappointed with the result because we felt we did enough to have got someting out of it. But that's the way our season has been going while everything seems to be going right for Bolton. They are getting good results.
We got into some very good positions but never used those positions correctly. Their keeper made a couple of excellent saves - from Pollet's header in the first half and from Simon Osborn's shot near the end. It wasn't that we didn't create chances but we just weren't quite good enough to make the most of our oppotunities to get the goals to win the match - and they did.
We should have been in front in the game but we weren't; Holdsworth's goal was worthy of winning a football match and I think they were in charge of the game a little bit after that. But in the second half we put up a good performance and we deserved the penalty. We were in charge then but we went a little bit loose and conceded the second goal - we let someone to turn and play someone in on the edge of the box. That's not right.
We carried on trying to get something out of it and the number of opportunities we had to create goalsoring chances was incredible.
I thought the player on the line in the first half (Dean Holdsworth) handled the ball. I thought the linesman gave it then didn't give it. I jumped off the bench, I was so sure. Branch was definitely tripped right at the end and we should have had a second penalty but we can't worry about decisions. What we should be concerned about is that we got behind them a number of times and didn't capitalise on it. We weren't ruthless enough or clincical enough with our finishing.
Bolton are third in the league get there wasn't an awful lot between the teams. We need a player who's a recognised 25-goal a season man and if we'd had one in our team on Saturday we would have won the game.
