TWO quality goals won us the three points, without any shadow of a doubt.
The timing of the first one was just what was needed because at that point Wolves just had the upper hand on us. They certainly caused us a lot of trouble on their corners.
But we managed to overcome that and Dean Holdsworth's goal, which must be a candidate for goal of the season, settled us down and we played the rest of the first half without any problems.
Unfortunately in the second half we had to make a change because of the injury to Dean, who was playing so well. Fishy came on a little bit cold and was in the wrong starting position when he gave away the penalty. He had already got away with one incident a few minutes earlier when Branch got down that side and the second time it cost us. I have no argumente, it looked a penalty from where I was.
Then we came back and another quality goal, of a different type, won us the match.
People look at Ian Marshall and say he is just a big, robust centre-forward but his touch, finesse and weight of pass to put Gudni Bergsson in for his goal was absolutely fantastic. You won't have seen a better pass than that anywhere. He cut the defence open and Gudni, having made the first pass, finished superbly.
There were times when we looked a little bit edgy and when you are playing like that you just want to get through the game with three points so that you can work on improving things for the next time.
I'm sure Wolves will be disappointed but they couldn't do anything about those goals. They were pure quality.
It was important to get the win. Everybody looked at our run and thought 'fantastic'! But I was a little bit disappointed personally because we'd only taken two points out of nine when we had deserved so much more. We deserved to win at Blackburn and Gillingham much more, perhaps, than on Saturday but that's the name of this game.
We might not have played well for 90 minutes but, when you've got an extra bit of quality over the opposition, it will win you a game.
