A FORMER Bolton man's boyhood love of pies is helping tomorrow's supermodels dump their anorexic image.
Johnny Atkinson, who is now a director of London based graphic design company North Creative was asked to help launch a top model agency's new signings at a Soho party.
So instead of arranging the usual finger buffet for the Select Model Agency Johnny, a former Smithills School pupil, laid on a spread of Hollands pies and mushy peas washed down with Boddingtons beer.
"We wanted to correct the preconceived image of models on starvation rations," said Johnny, aged 36, whose parents still live in Astley Bridge.
"The girls said that they were the best pies they had tasted. The potato and meat and steak and kidney were very popular but the favourite was clearly the cheese and onion.
"I remembered Holland's pies from my years in Bolton and I must say that they are just as good as ever."
