I REALLY must take issue with the Rev Michael Williams and his thoughts and views.

I have studied, meditated upon, and prayed over the Gospels for many years; and I have to say that I do not see the Jesus I find in the Gospels, reflected in the views of the Vicar of Bolton.

The same mistake has been repeated throughout the ages regarding Jesus. Each age tries to fit the strange carpenter of Nazareth into the 'mould' of that particular age. Each age, and this goes for many scripture scholars also, seeks to portray Jesus in its own 'image and likeness'.

The 'Jesus' I meet when I read Michael Williams, seems almost like some glorified social worker. No uniqueness at all.

I would ask Michael Williams what his views are on Hell.

The idea of Hell is totally unacceptable to the 'mentality' of the 21st century, yet Jesus spoke about Hell often, and stated quite clearly that "the road that leads to perdition is wide and spacious and many take it." (Matthew 7-13).

A Christian should 'radiate' Christ. An example of a true Christian is, in my opinion, Pope John Paul II. When I hear what he says, I meet the same man I meet in the Gospels, and in prayer. Of course John Paul has his enemies, as Jesus had. I wonder how many enemies the Vicar of Bolton has? Very few, I would imagine.
