QUALITY strikes earned Wanderers their 2-1 win over Wolves on Saturday.

That amazing goal from Dean Holdsworth and Gudni Begsson's clinical finish from Ian Marshall's astute made it clear that the Wanderers definitely have what it takes to produce the kind of quality needed for possible promotion.

"Two quality goals won us the three points, without any shadow of a doubt," said manager Sam Allardyce.

"The timing of the first one was just what was needed because at that point Wolves just had the upper hand on us. They certainly caused us a lot of trouble on their corners."

Despite the many injury blows Allardyce's side has sustained this season, the team seemed, at last, to be getting back to a familiar formation, with the return of Robbie Elliott and the promise of an early comeback for Ricardo Gardener.

Yet the groin injury Dean Holdworth picked up on Saturday has upset the balance again with him being ruled out of tonight's game and the visit to Stockport on Saturday.

"Unfortunately in the second half against Wolves we had to make a change because of the injury to Dean, who was playing so well," said Allardyce.

"Mark Fish came on a little bit cold and was in the wrong starting position when he gave away the penalty. He had already got away with one incident a few minutes earlier when Branch got down that side but the second time it cost us."

Yet it's far from doom and gloom. Wanderers are currently third in the table and have a squad that can square up to the best.

And according to Allardyce, QUALITY is the key to success: "We might not have played well for 90 minutes but, when you've got an extra bit of quality over the opposition, it will win you a game."

Tonight's game will test that theory and Forest's superb away form means that the Reebok is set for an exciting encounter.
