THE weather again played havoc with the Under 8s fixtures this week, to add even more games to the early backlog!

Westhoughton Rangers and Bolton County Raiders braved the elements to produce a fantastic game which Rangers won 2-0. Alex Killey and Liam Hilton both scored terrific goals, which takes Rangers into third place.

The only other game to survive in Section A saw Bury Rangers A copy last week's result with another 2-2 draw. The visitors, Horwich St Mary's Vikings had Thomas Axon-Smith to thank for equalising with almost the last kick of the game. Chris Bromilow was tremendous for the Vikings today.

In Section B, the only game to survive in this section took place at North Walkden. The visitors, Boothstown Corinthians, ran out 8-0 winners. Tom Dines (4), Matt Nichols (2), Sam Richmond and James Richards were on target, to ensure the Corinthians stay top of the B section.

In Section C Rivington Juniors proved too strong for Bromley Cross B in their 10-1 home win, to take them into second place. Kiran Thomson (5), Afzal Munshi, Kevin Hunt (2), James Houghton and Jack Sale scored the winning goals, with Elliot Ramsden getting the Bromley Cross consolation goal. Ladybridge Crusaders and Astley Bridge Tigers played out a tremendous game.

The deciding goal gave Crusaders the three points. Craig Williams was on target for Bury Rangers B, but his effort wasn't enough as Horwich St Mary's Trojans had a fine 5-1 away victory. Daniel Boss (3), Jack Sneddon and Dean Jones all hit the target for the Trojans.

In the Under 9s Section A Chairman's Cup Preliminary Round, Horwich St Mary's Panthers, Hindley Juniors Terriors, Hindley Juniors Jets, Horwich St Mary's Cougars and Ladybridge Bulldogs secured their places through to the next round with convincing victories.

Two league games also took place in U9s Section A two games took place. A free scoring game of end to end football produced an entertaining spectacle when Bury Rangers A beat Hindsford Devils Whites 7-4. Goals from Graham (3), Rothwell (2), Fisher and Kilroy.

In a close and competitive match top of the table team Bolton County Aces secured an away win against North Walkden A with goals from Knight, Weatherby and Potter.

In the Under 10s Section A Bolton Lads & Girls Club stayed top winning 6-0 home to Woodbank. CMB Westhoughton Wanderers played well to earn a home win over Bury Rangers 2-0.

In Section B Little Hulton Lads take first place with a thrilling 6-3 win against Bolton County Crusaders. Another game with many goals was played between Oxford Grove and Ladybridge A, which ended 5-3 to put Oxford Grove into joint third place with the Crusaders.

Under 10s Section C saw Bolton County Hotspur take first place after a 3-1 win against Walshaw Park Athletic. Rivington Juniors proved too strong against Ladybridge B with goals from Sarfraz Munshi (5), James Gurney (3), Jonathan Houghton (3), Daniel Bolton (2), Ashley Taylor and Gregg Travers, to give Rivington three points.
