Craig Lythgoe got nowhere fast...very fast.
Pedal power propelled the Withins School pupil the equivalent of 250 metres on rollers in an amazing time of just 12.7 seconds.
Craig was one of 16 youngsters from the school who took part in trials to find the fastest four who now go on to represent Withins against schools from around Greater Manchester.
Because the bikes are on rollers the cyclists don't move although the wheels zip round at incredible speed.
The successful quartet of Craig, Russ Brown, Neil Lee and Tom Alberts, all aged between 12 and 14, compete again at the Manchester Velodrome during the World Track Championships on October 25 when, if they are successful, they will take part in the final against the best in the region four days later.
