ONLY one Premier Division game was played last Saturday and it saw Tottington United 4-2 winners over Bolton Lads Club.
Lee Wood took less than 60 seconds to get Lads Club off the mark but Phil Parker levelled on ten minutes for Tottington and that's how it stayed until 20 minutes from time.
Ashley Walsh again put Lads Club in front but the United response was almost immediate through Ian West and the same player eight minutes later put the home side in front for the first time in the game. Three minutes from the final whistle Darren North made it four for United with teammate Matt Holt at full back voted man of the match.
In Division One AS Weaste took a three goal lead at home to Fearnleys through Leon Craven and two own goals from the visitors, Paul Davies and Alan Oxton the culprits. Fearnleys hit back for a 3-3 finish with three goals in five minutes from Paul Taylor, Paul Morris and Alan Kenyon.
Walkden Reserves went down to a first defeat of the season beaten 3-1 at Brindle Heath. Man of the match Alan Buckley got two for Brindle and Lee Gorst one with Andy Fitton the consolation goal scorer for Walkden.
Business was bad at the weekend for Commercial in a shock 7-2 defeat at Diamond. Mike Renshaw, Mark Stains and Tony Ordish all scored twice for Diamond after Dave Jeffers got the opener on three minutes. Steve Hyde and David Duval scored for Rick Yates' side.
Paul Worsley netted all three goals for Trident in a 3-1 win at Light Oak Rangers after Mike Littler had given the home side the lead on ten minutes. Another goal on the ten minute mark came from Mitchell Shackleton's John Firth and his side then had to hold on desperately through to the end for a 1-0 win over Stoneclough Reserves.
Man of the match was home defender Chris Hockam.
