BURY boss Andy Preece has confirmed his interest in Manchester United and Northern Ireland striker David Healy ahead of tonight's clash at Notts County.
It follows a dismal display of finishing during Staurday's 4-0 battering at Millwall which convinced Preece he needed more firepower.
"I didn't think we did a lot wrong at Millwall. We more than matched them but we just didn't take our chances," claimed Preece, whose side are still third in the league.
"The most disappointing aspect was that we didn't test their keeper. In the first half hour they were struggling and we had three good half chances but we didn't even get them on target. The first chance they got the lad Harris put it in the back of the net.
"But training was good yesterday, the confidence in the camp is still there and we are determined to bounce back at Notts County."
Saturday's woeful attacking display may mean a new face arriving at Gigg Lane sooner rather than later.
Fans are hoping it will be Reds' exciting youngster Healy. The 21-year-old can't get in the team at Old Trafford but he has scored twice in four games for Northern Ireland.
Preece has confirmed he is looking to bring in Healy on loan but says nothing has yet been sorted out.
"I am looking at several options and David Healy is one of them. But it's whether he'll be interested in coming here and whether we can match his wages," said Preece.
Bury will have no easy ride at Notts County tonight (kick off 7.45pm). They may not have won a home match since April but they have a talented squad and matched much-fancied Wigan blow for blow at the weekend in a match which ended 2-2 and saw County reduced to nine players.
The Shakers will again be without injured players Darren Bullock, Paul Barnes, Matt Barrass and Lee Unsworth.
Preece says he will make one or two changes to the team crushed at Millwall, "to keep things fresh".
