RECENT letters from Labour Party supporters have appeared in 'Your Views' which endeavour to blame the previous Government for our present problems. This is nonsense, and serves no useful purpose.

It is like standing in front of an empty house and shouting through the letter-box.

Whatever bad or stupid things may have been done by the Conservative Party while they were in power -- and I am sure that there were many -- the present Government, the Labour Party, with their four years in power and massive majority in Parliament, could easily have put them right if they had wanted to.

No, the responsibility for giving the old-age pensioners their miserly 75p per week rise, and the highest priced petrol in Europe, lies fairly and squarely on the Labour Party's shoulders, and it is to them, and them alone, that any protest must be made.
