TWO local paint firms have 'mixed'. Classic Finishes (North West) Ltd and Wareing Bros & Co Ltd have joined forces to form Carltonian Classic Finishes.

The new trading relationship is based at the Carlton Street headquarters of the parent company, Wareing Brothers & Co.

Wareing Brothers dates back to 1905 and Classic Finishes (North West) Ltd, which previously employed seven people in Garside Street, Bolton, was established in 1992.

The combined workforce, which remains unchanged, is about 20.

Mr Frank McDonna, Managing Director of Classic Finishes and Mr Peter Wareing, Managing Director of Wareing Bros, issued a joint statement.

It said: "This partnership marks a new beginning for our organisations and is an exciting time for all concerned.

"The combination of the strengths of each company will give our customers a wider choice of quality coatings and colour ranges, better service and delivery through our combined fleet transport facilities.

"By combining high tech tinting technology and batch manufacture, our flexibility of supply will be vastly improved.

"All in all, our customers will see a complete paint supply package for metal surfaces and flooring systems, together with a specialist floor paint application and preparation service."

Wareing Brothers has a long track record in the supply of a wide range of decorative and industrial paints.

Classic Finishes developed cutting edge technological and environmental solutions in specialist applications for the industrial and heavy duty markets.
