IT was a case of Hallow-eek! at Duke Street nursery on Monday as children were spellbound by creepy crawlies.
Tarantulas, snakes and mini beasts of all kinds were brought into the nursery by volunteers from Blackpool's Wild Animal Sanctuary Project (WASP) as a special pre-Hallowe'en treat.
And children also enjoyed scary food, including black spaghetti and Hallowe'en games.
Rachel Lewis, nursery spokesman, said: "The children got to see the creepy crawlies close up, and touch them.
"It's quite exciting for the children, as some of them are only three.
"And we planned lots of paintings and making spiders of out card and putting long legs on them."
The celebrations will continue on Thursday, October 19 with a fancy dress seasonal concert for parents, including songs with a Hallowe'en theme. SNAKES alive! : Bethany Smith shows no fear.
