BOLTON model engineers took advantage of the winter months in 1951-52 to build up the rolling stock for their model railway in Leverhulme Park.
The season opened in April, 1952, and the picture shows Mr Howarth, chairman of the society, astride one of the models with, behind him, Mr Beech, secretary, and some of the club members.
The members had extended the circular track which ran round the model car track, and at the time had six engines.
