THE Liberal's deliberation and declaration that the British flag and the word British is racist, should be treated with the contempt it deserves.

True, in the distant past we had an Empire and Colonial ambitions, those days are long gone, confined to history.

Our flag was, and still is, respected throughout the world, hence the endless stream of refugees and asylum seekers who wish to live here under the banner.

Our athletes at the Olympiad displayed the flag with pride, are they racists?

Far from being hidden away, it should be displayed for all to see daily, as in America where all pay allegiance to the Stars and Stripes, and why not?

Is it a crime to be proud of one's country or emblem? Perhaps the Liberal Think Tank can answer this difficult poser.
