STOCKPORT goal star Ian Moore must be wondering whether he's coming or going.
A £1.2 million bid from Burnley has seen the former Tranmere striker embroiled in an on-off transfer saga that has taken more twists than an Agatha Christie murder mystery.
County said 'no' to the Clarets' bid, Burnley withdrew the offer then, according to Stockport manager Andy Kilner who has not been involved in the negotiations, the deal was revived.
The smart money in midweek was on Moore NOT being a County player this weekend. Burnley say they have not been back in with an improved offer and, despite talk of another club - thought to be Preston - making an approach, there appears to be nothing doing.
Barring a dramatic, 11th hour development, he will certainly be available for selection against Wanderers tomorrow. Whether his manager decides he is in the right frame of mind is another matter.
"You can see it starting to affect the lad's performance," Kilner said, urging all parties to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.
Stockport, who have won only once at home since beating Wolves last Boxing Day, are desperate for points and can ill afford to lose their six-goal top scorer
Already without Jim Gannon, Chris Byrne and Karim Fradim and with Kevin Cooper struggling for fitness, Kilner has now lost the services of right back Sean Connelly, who has a pelvic injury and limped out of Tuesday night 4-0 defeat at Birmingham.
