MEMBERS a local preservation group are asking Wigan planners to revoke permission given for houses to be built on land in Hindley Green.
WASP -- Wildlife and Social Preservation, on the Green -- argues the land at the rear of Carr Common Road, known locally as Belvedere Farm, contains protected species and should be the subject of an environmental impact assessment.
And in their argument members are pointing to the decision made by Bolton Council to refuse development plans on Westhoughton's Bowlands Hey site.
They say arguments made by the Secretary of State for the Environment expressing his concern about the preservation of the Westhoughton green field site should also be pertinent to Belvedere Farm.
