MP RUTH Kelly will be officially opening Daisy Hill's new £165,000 community centre on Saturday, October 28.
Community groups from the area will be on hand to join in the ceremony with the MP for Westhoughton who will unveil a plaque at 10am.
The centre on Hindley Road, near the railway station, is finally complete and residents are invited to make the most of the new facility.
It consists of a main hall, adjoining meeting room, modern kitchen, a separate meeting room/office, an on-site car park and a range of especially designed facilities including easy access for people with disabilities. The centre opened several weeks ago to the public and has already proved to be popular with block bookings as well as casual usage.
Further information on booking the hall is from the Community Development Team on 01204 334300.
