A CARING Bolton nursery is teaching its young charges about children five thousand miles away in Malawi -- by "adopting" a little girl there.
Asquith Court Nursery, within Bolton's David Lloyd Leisure Club, is sponsoring three year-old Flora through Plan International UK.
The move is part of the nursery's encouragement of awareness of other countries, cultures and religions, and is already proving popular with the local youngsters. They will exchange letters and pictures with Flora, and are currently discovering more about Malawi.
"It's good for the children to know how other children so far away live," explained a nursery spokeswoman. "And they're certainly enjoying the experience."
