WE'VE all heard about blowing your own trumpet but what about the bagpipes?
Well, for those of you who fancy playing a highland fling or two, look no further than a Labour club in Farnworth.
That's where Bolton and District Pipe Band rehearse and they are currently looking for new recruits. Band spokesman, Martin Nice says: "The band's been going for around 90 years or so -- I think we emerged from the old Boys' Brigade -- so we're certainly well-established.
"We practise from 8pm every Monday night and, although we have a relatively healthy turnout, we are always looking for new recruits, especially for our junior section.
"We'd like to meet anyone who's interested in joining. They don't need any playing experience, just enthusiasm and commitment."
So, if you're interested in playing the pipes and drums at various events around the area -- the band is always in demand -- contact the band's secretary, Monica Shaw on 01204 706382.
They rehearse on Mondays at Dixon Green Labour Club, off Plodder Lane, Farnworth.
