FAMILY members often go well beyond family obligations in their kindness. And this is certainly true of Shirley Norris.
According to her cousin Shirley Tinsley, Shirley Norris, from Daubhill, is "the kindest person I have ever known" and she nominates her for our Bouquet of the Week. "Apart from taking in any stray animals -- hedgehogs, cats, rabbits etc, and doing shopping for anyone, she sews for friends," explained Shirley Tinsley. In between all these, she has cared for her sister Sylvia, who was born with Down's syndrome, after their parents died.
"She has looked after Sylvia for 25 years, every day, never sent her away to have a break. Sadly, Sylvia died recently at the age of 55 and this, of course, has left a huge gap for Shirley to fill."
Her cousin felt that our lovely hand-tied bouquet (courtesy of Caroline Ward's flower and gift delivery service, freephone 0800-289-335) would cheer her up, and it certainly did. If YOU know a special someone who deserves our weekly bouquet, send an e-mail nominating him or her to Features Editor, Angela Kelly on: akelly@lancashire.newsquest.co.uk
