POLICE cordoned off a street after a man threatened to blow up his house last night.
Emergency services were called to the address in Captain Fold Road, Little Hulton, shortly after 10pm after the man threatened to cause the explosion.
It is believed he had turned on the rings of a gas cookers and was holding a cigarette lighter, when the threats were made.
Fire crews from Farnworth and Bolton Central were called to the scene, amid fears the house could go up in flames, but they were eventually stood down at 10.40pm when the man left the house.
Today detectives from Swinton CID confirmed officers had arrested a 33-year-old man. He was due to be questioned today in connection with threats to cause criminal damage.
